You head south towards Bursa; the route using the bay crossing shortens the drive noticeably. From Bursa city centre you join the Uludağ road and climb about 35 km, first to the Karabelen gate and then to the hotels area.
You can also leave the car below and take the cable car: the line from Bursa runs via Sarıalan up to the hotels area and takes about half an hour. On heavy snow days this is a comfortable option if you would rather not drive the mountain road.
Driving into Uludağ National Park is chargeable, and the fee is collected by HGS at the Karabelen gate; there are no cash booths. Vehicles without HGS pay on PTT's HGS website. According to the official announcement, if payment is not made within 30 days, an administrative fine of ten times the entry fee applies. As the tariff changes periodically, check the current amount in the announcements of the Nature Conservation and National Parks authority.

Winter tyres are not mandatory for passenger cars nationwide; the requirement applies to commercial vehicles carrying passengers or freight between cities. Governorships may add their own rules depending on conditions. On a snowy mountain road, winter tyres noticeably improve grip even where they are not required.

A note: an SUV look does not mean four-wheel drive. On snow, the real difference comes from the tyres and careful driving.
