When does the 25% reduction apply?

An administrative fine paid within the legal period is collected at three quarters of the amount; the guide prints the reduced figure next to every line. The period and the amount that apply to your own fine appear on the notice served to you and in your e-Devlet record — check there before you pay.

How do you check and pay a fine?

  • e-Devlet: the "Traffic Fine Enquiry and Payment" service lists fines issued to your vehicle and to you, and lets you pay from the same screen.
  • Banks: most banks accept traffic fine payments through online banking.
  • Tax office: fines can also be paid at a tax office.

How do you appeal?

An appeal against a traffic administrative fine is made to the magistrate's court (sulh ceza hâkimliği) within the period set out in law, counted from the date the notice is served. The period and the procedure are printed on the notice; once it lapses the fine becomes final. If you believe there is a factual error on the notice — plate, date or place — state it in your appeal.

What happens if you are fined in a rental car?

As a rule the fine is issued to the driver who committed the violation, and in a rental that is you. How it is handled in the rental is set out on the rental conditions page and in the contract you sign — read that line before handover. The regulation that takes effect on 1 January 2027 also draws a line here: for items such as tolls from the rental period, nothing may be charged beyond their actual amount plus the additional costs stated in the contract and documented by the company (art. 13/7). We cover it in our new regulation article.
